My name is Connor (he/him) and I’m very excited to be a Story Teller at Gaming Together! I first started my Dungeons & Dragons adventure in 4th grade thanks to my amazing Dungeon Master step-dad and I’ve been playing for 8 years since. I’m currently a geology student with a general interest in the sciences, but also have a budding interest in art history. As someone who isn’t very expressive artistically, D&D has given me an outlet to experiment with acting and my own form of creativity in making wacky characters. I’m overjoyed that I can share this outlet with your kids and look forward to meeting all of them. I also enjoy cooking from time to time, and am planning to start my own rock collection.
Hi everyone! I'm
Cooper (he/him)! I graduated from Bennington College, where I studied a combination of Drama, Literature, and Music and volunteered as a mentor in
the DREAM program. Since then, I’ve worked in a Job Skills Training/GED program for teenagers who struggled in a traditional education system, and taught outdoor and arts skills to adults with developmental differences.
I've been playing D&D for a loooooong time: I think I must have been in 3rd or 4th grade when I started. I went to an overnight camp in Massachusetts where one of the councilors brought his collection of 3.5e D&D books and ran a short campaign for us campers. My first character was the traditional Elven ranger named Aramil Nailo, but with a bit of a werewolfy spin. While he’ll always have a place in my heart, my favorite character I’ve ever played can only be Lenny Smalls, the 3-foot-tall mousefolk bard, equally skilled with his rapier wit and his rapier...rapier!
Really glad to be a part of the Gaming Together crew, and I'm looking forward to nerding out with all of y'all!
Hi, I'm
Ivy (they/them)! I graduated from Bennington College in 2019, where I studied Evolutionary Biology and Drama. I previously worked at a theatre camp for children ages 6 to 14 for three years, where I saw the power of playing pretend and the key role of that play in developing imaginations, critical thinking, and social skills.
My favorite D&D character I have played was a kobold swashbuckler named Cyrus who dreamed of becoming a great pirate captain, but struggled to get his own crew to take him seriously.
Favorite Monster:
the Juiblex
My name is
JJ (they/he), and I am overjoyed to be a Story Teller for Gaming Together! I have been playing D&D for 8 years, and have played Table-Top Role-Playing Games (TTRPGs) for 20 years. I love playing these games: sharing them and the stories we tell together with new players and old is a blessing that cannot be overstated. This shared space provides a great platform for people to explore their own creativity, to take risks, and to fail in a safe place. My time as a player and a Story Teller has helped me with public speaking, sharing my ideas, conflict management, and collaboration on projects. I want to create these empowering experiences with and for your kids. I am a natural educator and I’ve been fortunate to explore that capacity through technical training as an IT professional, academic discussions as a Cultural Anthropologist, and personal mentoring of friends older and younger than I am. I love sharing knowledge with people and learning from them in kind. I strongly believe that the best teachers learn from their students, and I appreciate the opportunity to model this for your young people.
Favorite Monster:
the Behir
I'm
Kenneth (he/him). I am currently a Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology student at UC Santa Cruz. I previously worked at a program called Upward Bound where I tutored high school students from underprivileged families and assisted them with college applications.
I first got into running D&D because of the stories I read on the internet about creative ways that other people had seen their players solve puzzles. I have been running the game for about 2 years now and have loved every minute of it!
Favorite Monster:
Faerie Dragon
I’m Nick (he/him), a professional game developer with a degree in theater, and I have been playing D&D and other role playing games for over 20 years. I’ve worked in children’s theater and puppet shows, and have voiced many of the characters in the games I’ve developed, so my favorite part of running D&D is voicing the monsters and villains the intrepid adventurers face. I like giving players epic challenges to overcome, but I love it when players come up with creative and unorthodox tactics, especially if it helps out the story and other players at the table. I still shudder at that one game where the kids summoned an army of giant spiders to overcome a castle full of pirates.
Hi, I’m Nicki (he/him). I am a marine biology student currently on hold while classes are online, and glad to be part of Gaming Together. I have been playing D&D for years and joined GT mid Summer 2020. My favorite part of D&D is the tactics, and helping players learn to work as a team and coordinate their skills to protect their weaknesses.
For ideas as a Story Teller, I look to video games I have played and anime I have watched. I’ve taken inspiration from Oblivion, Skyrim, Tales of Berseria, Tales of Vesperia, Fairy Tail, One Piece, and many more. Currently, I am running two Eberron campaigns and three Rime of the Frostmaiden groups while also playing in a Curse of Strahd campaign and a Ravnica campaign.
I have known Honor for a long time as a family friend, and worked for years as a babysitter for Honor and a number of other local families with twice-exceptional children. I was really happy that I could finally join in as a Gaming Together ST when my summer marine biology work was suspended because of the pandemic.
With quarantine, my life is basically all online—playing games with friends and doing D&D stuff. But when I need a break from screens, I hang out with the best friend I just moved in with in Michigan. As a native Californian, I can't wait for it to start snowing here so I can experience a real Winter.
I’m ST Oliver (or Ollie, he/him), and I’ve been with Gaming Together since Summer 2020, and am excited to get to know and work with more tabletop campaigns! I am currently a psychology student, but have an interest in folklore and art history as well. In addition to my work as a psychology student, I’ve worked with kids since I was young myself, helping to get kids involved with Shakespeare, managing staff at a summer camp, and working in outreach to younger students as part of high school clubs. My favorite TTRPG* moment was when my players pretended to be dead to break into a morgue.
*Table-Top Role-Playing Game (e.g., D&D)
My name is Rachel (she/her), and I’m so happy to be a Story Teller at Gaming Together! I have been playing D&D for four years, and spent the two years before that longing to play. I love this game and I love that I can use it as a tool to help my students develop creativity and essential social skills! As a psychology student studying communication and empathy I believe that D&D is a fantastic way to step into the shoes of another person, consider the perspective of others, and work through conflict as a team. As a hobbiest actor and Broadway buff I’ve always thought that D&D has all of the benefits of participating in live theatre: It’s an amazing creative outlet that allows a group of people to work together and tell a grand, heroic story. When I’m not playing D&DD I can be found gardening, cooking, and bowing to every whim and bork of my 13-year-old shih-tzu Gizmo.
I’m
Ryan (he/him), a Computer Science student on hold until classes reopen in person. I’ve been with Gaming Together since mid-2018. I tend to focus more on the “Game” part of “Roleplaying Game”, but I’m no slouch in the silly voice department. Music is what I see as the strongest conveyor of mood and tone, and I draw on extensive internal knowledge of video game music to match each scene in my D&D games.
Currently, I’m running a “homebrew” (self-created) adventure based on the
Monster Hunter games, and have been really pleased to successfully emulate a lot of the feelings people get when they play them.
I play games, and dabble in just about everything else imaginable: video editing, 3D animation, music editing and mixing, and whatever else has my attention at the time.
Hello, I’m Sam (he/they)! I’ve been with Gaming Together since the beginning of 2019 and have been playing Dungeons & Dragons for four years. Currently, I’m a Computer Science student and focusing on going into the gaming industry. I try to integrate this into my games by merging my hobbies with the role-playing games as much as possible. I’ve loved working with students throughout my time here with Gaming Together, and continue to try to find ways to use D&D to solve problems and give everyone a chance to bond. I currently play a small kenku named Jabari who can only talk in mimicry. Primarily, I find myself as the ST of my home games (I’m about to start up a pirate adventure with a group of friends soon)! I also play guitar, draw, and write to take advantage of all my time.
I'm Tad (they/she), and I've been with Gaming Together for just over a year, having started in late September 2019. I've played D&D 5e (fifth edition) for a few years now, and as I’ve really understood the system, I've been having so much fun being a player and a Story Teller. I'm currently playing an air genasi cleric named Calliope, a tabaxi blood hunter named Canagan, and a human rogue named Shrike. I love adapting things I enjoy into the D&D world, and have played in or run D&D for Breath of the Wild, Skyrim, My Little Pony, Warriors, and Guardians of Ga'hoole.
I grew up in Australia and immigrated to America in 2011. Before Gaming Together, I'd only played D&D in-person a couple of times and online a lot, so it was a super fun introduction to see the way it all worked. I enjoy the character and worldbuilding aspects of D&D, and love to roleplay and create in-depth backstories.
I draw as a hobby, and video editing is one of my passions—which I hope to go to college for when we're no longer locked in our homes! I have two cats, Lovelace and Fleetfoot (or Lola and Bugs, as they're more often called), and a big ol' dog, Winston, who always likes to create sound effects for dogs barking... even when the players are in the middle of Avernus.
